What an absolutely beautiful combination: the leather jacket, the tee shirt and her skin tone, wow! They really blend into each other – very intriguing. Oftentimes people get carried away with print tees and the motifs scream their message drawing attention away from everything else. Not here. She’s showing us the textbook example of how to work the print tee.
Interestingly, the more you let other parts of the outfit work, the better the print will look. So, first of all, try choosing a tee with print colors that go with the rest of your outfit. Then proceed to making sure that the motif isn’t too obvious. After all, you don’t want people to think that you are wearing a statement tee shirt of some sort (unless you are of course :)) Finally hide part of the motif under a plain scarf, short jacket (like here) or some other piece of your outfit. This way the print will turn into an accessory for you. You’ll look absolutely great without people really being able to put their finger on where the magic is.
It doesn’t matter if the tee is of a white or black base color even if those aren’t exactly aligned with the rest of your colors. It’s actually the contrast against the white or black background that makes the print pop just the right amount.
